SOLIBRIUM's motto "Nuru Maishani" is Swahili for "Light in Your Life." SOLIBRIUM's mission is to bring affordable, flexible electricity to a consistently under-served population. SOLIBRIUM does this by offering modular solar kits coupled with usable appliances, and a flexible and variable payment method. In three years of operation, solar electricity will have been made available to approximately 4,000 households, schools, churches, and businesses in rural Africa. These solar kits use quality products to provide efficient, durable, and long-lasting solar electricity.
Solar Waste and a Circular Economy
Solibrium, in partnership with the Swiss Government and myclimate Foundation, is developing business models to reduce solar waste (e.g. batteries) and other electronic waste through the application of Circular Economy principles. This project, Resource Efficiency and Waste Management for Offgrid Solar (REWMOS), will develop partnerships, conduct research, and ultimately reduce electronic waste.
